Gift Guide: Nature-Inspired Trinkets & Art

Our favorite artists and collections to gift this season:

We discovered Keshi on our first visit to Santa Fe and were immediately drawn to the huge range of cute and beautiful carved creatures. The animal carvings are called “fetishes” and according to Keshi “Zuni fetishes are animal carvings that have been used by the A:Shiwi (The People) for over a thousand years. By honoring the animals and acknowledging their special "medicine" (their natural traits), we may summon our own similar attributes.” We came home with a bear carving for ourselves and would highly recommend giving a fetish to someone who appreciates how art can connect us to nature and tradition

This large format magazine wants to reinvent the way we read and appreciate stories of the outdoors, and honestly calling it a magazine doesn’t quite cut it. I’d argue it’s closer to a book, perfect for a coffee table at the office or vacation condo, each issue whole with gorgeous photography and a nostalgic feel. An annual subscription is sure to please the person in your life who loves the outdoors and immersing themselves in it in a totally new way.

Local to Boulder and Santa Barbara, Keymer Studios makes the cutest stocking stuffers, from espresso mugs to ornaments, jars and vases. Decorated with elegant muted colors that appear to melt/bleed together or waves of pastels that resemble land and sky scapes.

Located in a lovely surf spot in Sayulita, Mexico, PALU Gallery is a collection of two artists, Paulina and Luna both of whom have an especially unique style of art inspired by the sand and ocean. Paintings By Paulina have an energy that gives Dali and Luna’s genius leaves you feeling like you’re in a Tim Burton movie. She captures traditional Latin/ Mexican line art blending her magical spooky touch in with the perfect amount. Recently the Gallery has begun a feature exhibit of an extremely talented photographer who uses drones and impressive skill to almost overwhelm your eyes with color and beauty. @CurtBarter’s shots will for sure put a smile on your loved ones face.

Behind this eye-catching art is a mother, artist and nature-lover who keeps us mesmerized. We were first introduced to Elyse’s art by her work on a collaboration with Jskis where her art was used as a top sheet. Her work on canvas is truly wild and will leave you speechless, the prints make a perfect gift.
